Spacing

Leave 60 inches between the edges of neighbouring tables: enough for two chairs pushed back-to-back and a server to pass. In a tight room 54 inches works; anything less and guests at the back cannot get out once the room is seated.

Questions

How many people fit at a 8-foot banquet table?

Eight sit comfortably at a 8-foot banquet table, and ten will fit at a squeeze. Plan for 8 so there is room for place settings and a centrepiece.

What size tablecloth fits a 8-foot banquet table?

A 90" × 156" cloth reaches the floor on a standard 30-inch-high table; a 60" × 126" cloth drops to lap length, about 15 inches.

How many 8-foot banquet tables do I need for 100 guests?

13 tables, which gives 104 seats and 4 to spare.

How much space does a 8-foot banquet table take up?

About 119 square feet once you allow a 3 ft ring for chairs and a walkway behind them. Keep at least 60 inches between table edges so chairs can push back without blocking the aisle.
