Getting started
Start from a template or an empty room
The home screen offers eight starter rooms — a classic ballroom, a barn, a garden ceremony and others — or you can begin with New event and set the room size yourself. Templates are just a head start; every table can be moved, resized, renamed or deleted.
Add your guests
Type them one at a time, paste a list, import a CSV from a spreadsheet, or pull names from Contacts. Guests can belong to groups (both families, university friends), be joined into households or parties, carry an RSVP, a meal choice and dietary notes.
Seat them
Drag a name onto a chair, or select a guest and tap a seat. Dropping someone on an occupied chair swaps the two. Arrange seats everyone at once, honoring your keep-apart rules and keeping households together; you can always adjust by hand afterwards.
Common questions
Do I need an account?
No. The app works fully without one — your charts are saved on your device. An account only matters if you want the same chart on the web planner at weddingcharts.com, or want to share a board with someone.
How does sharing work?
Open an event's details and create an invite code. The person you send it to makes their own free account, chooses Join a board, and enters the code. They can then edit the chart with you. Only the owner can delete the board or remove people.
My CSV imported strangely
Match the Name column in the import preview — the other columns (group, RSVP, meal, dietary notes) are optional. If accented names look wrong, re-export the file as UTF-8 from your spreadsheet. If the first row is your header, leave the header toggle on.
Printing the seating poster
Export offers the poster in six styles and four sizes, including A2, A1, 18 by 24 and 24 by 36 inches. If a print shop asks for bleed, turn on crop marks and bleed in the poster options — that adds an eighth of an inch of bleed, corner marks and a slug line. Everything exports as true vector PDF, so it stays sharp at any size.
The QR seat-finder page
Publishing creates a private page at an unlisted address that guests can open to find their table. It carries guest names, their tables, and the event name, couple and date — nothing else from your plan. Republish after you change the seating, and take it down whenever you like.
Can I get my data out?
Yes — export the guest list as CSV at any time, and every printed piece as PDF. Deleting your account removes the charts synced to weddingcharts.com; charts saved on your device stay with you until you delete them.
Something went wrong
If the app misbehaves, the fastest fix is usually to note what you were doing and send it through the feedback bubble — it includes your version and device automatically. If a chart looks wrong after an edit, undo works everywhere, and Version history (in the event menu behind the mark at the top left) can restore an earlier snapshot.
