Spacing

Leave 60 inches between the edges of neighbouring tables: enough for two chairs pushed back-to-back and a server to pass. In a tight room 54 inches works; anything less and guests at the back cannot get out once the room is seated.

Questions

How many people fit at a 6-foot banquet table?

Six sit comfortably at a 6-foot banquet table, and eight will fit at a squeeze. Plan for 6 so there is room for place settings and a centrepiece.

What size tablecloth fits a 6-foot banquet table?

A 90" × 132" cloth reaches the floor on a standard 30-inch-high table; a 60" × 102" cloth drops to lap length, about 15 inches.

How many 6-foot banquet tables do I need for 100 guests?

17 tables, which gives 102 seats and 2 to spare.

How much space does a 6-foot banquet table take up?

About 102 square feet once you allow a 3 ft ring for chairs and a walkway behind them. Keep at least 60 inches between table edges so chairs can push back without blocking the aisle.
