Spacing
Put high-tops along the edges of the cocktail space and near the bar, not in the middle of the traffic. Leave 4 to 5 feet between them so two people can pass with drinks in hand.

Questions
How many people fit at a 30-inch cocktail table?
Four guests stand comfortably around a 30-inch cocktail table; two to four is the usual range. It is for drinks and small plates at cocktail hour, not for a seated meal.
What size tablecloth fits a 30-inch cocktail table?
A 120-inch round cloth covers a 42-inch-high cocktail table to the floor; most rental companies gather it at the waist with a sash or tie. A fitted spandex cover for a 30-inch top at 42 inches high is the no-iron alternative.
How many cocktail tables do I need for 100 guests?
About 9 to 13. Plan for a third to a half of your guests to be at a table at any moment; at four a table that is one table for every 8 to 12 guests. Add a few lower tables with chairs for guests who need to sit.
How much space does a 30-inch cocktail table take up?
About 42 square feet once you allow a 2 ft ring for guests standing around it. Leave 4 to 5 feet between high-tops so people can move between them with a drink.
